Travel agencies like Tripadvisor, Skyscanner, Trip com, Fareportal, and others are also implementing new plugins.
Language models that are connected with external data sources through plugins are used by ChatGPT and Bing Chat. This makes it possible for AI-powered assistants to help users in real-time with things like making trip plans.
Microsoft is adopting the open plugin standard that OpenAI just made available for ChatGPT in March. This indicates that OpenAI and Microsoft ecosystems will be interoperable with plugins created to this standard. The first ChatGPT plugins were created by Expedia and Kayak, and now Microsoft customers can also utilise them.
Currently, Bing provides helpful conversation ideas to users through integrated plugins that are accessible on desktop and mobile devices. OpenTable is a prominent plugin that enables users to ask questions about restaurants and related topics. This function is improved by the Bing mobile app, especially when travelling.
Subscribers to ChatGPT Plus, and soon everyone else, can select “Search with Bing” in the chat platform. Since Bing is the system’s default search engine, it collects the most recent data from the whole web. With the addition of this capability, ChatGPT’s responses can now be supported by search and online data, replete with references so users can learn more while staying in conversation.
Furthermore, Google announced major upgrades to its generative AI-powered search and marketing capabilities last week. For instance, Google’s new Search Generative Experience (SGE), which incorporates information and links from numerous sources, can now respond to lengthy, multi-step queries.
