Khinda Village and Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary are the newest additions to the Ministry of Tourism’s redesigned Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) program, following Koraput. The program, which aims to increase destination tourism in India, is expected to turn these places into environmentally friendly and sustainable tourist destinations.
The decision to provide a special package for the development of Khinda Village and Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary under the SD2.0 plan was made public by the Ministry of Tourism last week. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wrote to Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy last year pleading for the inclusion of these two locations, which served as the impetus for this action.
