Australia has announced to restart its repatriation flights from India starting May 15. The first repatriation flight will leave from India to Darwin while two other flights will be scheduled from India to the Northern Territory during this month only. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison had banned all the incoming flights from India to further protect his country from the pandemic. Additionally, the Australian government also announced a prison term and heavy penalty for those who tried to breach the travel ban by entering Australia via another South Asia country.
“We have already facilitated the return of around 20,000 Australians from India, and this has been a big task. And that task will commence again on the 15th of May,” he said.
