Airbnb announced the launch of Airbnb Rooms, a new version of its original platform that offers guests a more affordable way to experience a destination by staying with a local, the company announced. Each Airbnb room has a host that allows guests to get to know their host before booking.
The company has created a separate room category that includes a pool of 1 million private rooms to make it easier for guests to find private rooms, as well as updated filters and added new privacy features.
“With Rooms, guests can learn more about their hosts via the Host Passport, which includes details hosts have shared about themselves, from what they do for work to fun facts. Additionally, there are ways to narrow down searches using filters and expanded privacy features,” the company said.
