Arvind Singh, Secretary of Tourism, is to retire on May 31, 2023, and V. Vidyavathi, IAS, who is now Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture, will take over in his place. She has been given the position of Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Tourism. In May 2020, Vidyavathi, an IAS officer from the Karnataka Cadre and a member of the 1991 batch started working as the DG-ASI.
