Finnair announces new seasonal menu, brings a symphony of Nordic and Global Flavors

Finnair has elevated its onboard dining experience with the launch of its late-winter and spring menu across Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class on European and long-haul flights. The updated menu, designed to reflect Nordic simplicity and infused with local flavors from various destinations, has become available from 29 January through 20 May 2025.

In Business Class on long-haul flights departing Helsinki, Finnair Kitchen’s latest offering promises a refined gastronomic journey. Inspired by seasonal ingredients, both westward and eastbound routes have an exquisite selection of new starters. Both routes will also include a pumpkin-based starter with feta cheese and pumpkin seed oil.

Main course selections include meat and fish options, paired with either porcini mushroom risotto, pumpkin, broccoli, corn, and black garlic sauce, or potato purée, oven-baked root vegetables, broccolini, cabbage, and dill cream sauce. Additionally, a third, route-specific option is available, as always. Dessert choices include a brownie with salted caramel and nuts, served with raspberry sauce; blueberry cake; or a cheese selection featuring Peltola’s blue cheese and Herkkujuustola’s Mouhitaler, paired with fig compote. Passengers can pre-select their main course through the Finnair website up to 24 hours before departure.

Premium Economy passengers on long-haul flights will also experience an updated menu, with pre-selection options for their main course. Selections include meat stew with creamy polenta and green vegetables in red wine sauce, or grilled chicken breast with pea purée, carrots, and buttermilk sauce. A second light meal or snack will be served before landing, complemented by a complimentary selection of hot and cold beverages, excluding sparkling wine.

Economy Class passengers on long-haul flights will receive a hot meal with non-alcoholic beverages, plus a complimentary glass of wine or a mild alcoholic drink (excluding sparkling wine). Select routes, including Delhi, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Osaka, Shanghai, Seoul, and Singapore, will offer two main course options, while other routes will feature a set menu. Longer flights will also include a second light meal or snack before arrival. Additional food and beverage items can be purchased via the in-flight entertainment system, with delivery to passengers’ seats by the cabin crew.

Finnair’s in-flight meal service is carefully designed to align with flight durations and departure times. For instance, on long-haul flights to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Nagoya, Business Class passengers receive a light meal after departure and a brunch-style meal before landing, with tailored options available in Premium Economy and Economy Classes as well. Passengers can explore the full range of in-flight meal options via Finnair’s website and mobile app, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience above the clouds.
