As The Standard Group celebrates a quarter-century of shaking things up, The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives is transforming the traditional white Christmas color palette into the sparkling silver of a disco ball. From 20 December 2024 to 7 January 2025, the villa-only resort will dazzle in celebration of the brand’s 25th birthday and the planet’s turn around the sun with an action-packed ‘Very Silver Holiday’ program.
While silver takes center stage, the Tree Lighting Ceremony on 20 December 2024 will be a classic white affair. Breaking with tradition, Santa will make a memorable entrance from the ocean, bearing gifts for all—naughty or nice. The program of activities leading up to New Year’s Day has been polished to perfection. Adults can leave the stresses of the year behind with candle pouring or pottery, while kids enjoy games, sports, cooking classes, and an island-wide scavenger hunt. Adding a touch of ocean blue to the silver palette, the resort will also offer guided snorkeling expeditions to Banyan Faru Sand Bank and the last Sunset Cruise of the Year with free-flowing drinks.
Live music will fill the days, smooth jazz giving way to DJ sets ranging from mellow to upbeat. Across a sandbar, on the pocket-sized Baby Island, a Glow Party catering to adults will take place under a tropical moon, while families can let loose at the famously boisterous Standard Pool Party. On New Year’s Eve, a spectacular fireworks display will be the closing act of a memorable night featuring dancers, acrobats, contortionists and a delightful international buffet.
Themed buffets spanning Mediterranean, seafood, BBQ, Asian, and local fare will keep things exciting on the culinary front throughout the holidays. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, tables will be groaning with seasonal favorites, while wine enthusiasts will have their pick of a la carte dinners with wine pairings and guided tastings. Lastly, those making a wellness resolution will get a chance to kick-start their year with daily sunrise and sunset yoga, therapeutic breathing sessions and healing rituals.
