The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) participated in the recently held Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) in the picturesque town of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
Participating for the first time, IMOT aimed to highlight the country’s offerings for adventure travellers while fostering ties with Indian tour operators, tourism professionals, and stakeholders. IMOT engaged with the travel trade to share its vision and roadmap for more sustainable adventure travel, including collaboration opportunities and partnerships. It also explored familiarization trips to give the agents a firsthand experience of what Israel offers as a unique adventure destination.
Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing, IMOT-India underscored Isarel’s commitment to promoting leisure travel, especially the adventure segment. Highlighting the country’s appeal as a dynamic destination for thrill-seekers, she stated, “Israel’s diverse landscapes and activities – from hiking in the rugged mountains of Eilat to rappelling in Golan Heights and scuba diving in the Red Sea – make it an unparalleled adventure spot. Our participation in this convention gave us an understanding of the Indian adventure market and travellers’ profiles, opening doors for long-term partnerships.” It also encouraged the agents to include Israel’s adventure experiences in their offerings.
With a growing number of Indian tourists visiting Israel – 8,500 between January and October – and upcoming Jubilee year celebrations, IMOT is geared to unlock its tourism potential and receive more travellers. Its presence at ATOAI reaffirms its commitment to diversifying its tourism products. The shared love for exploration between India and Israel will drive an upward trend.
