The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir celebrated International Mountain Day at Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar. The event saw a massive participation of Travel trade fraternity and various Clubs and Societies working for the cause of nature and adventure.
Documentaries on the initiatives taken ,by the Tourism Department as well as the private stakeholders,during 2024 for the furtherance of the cause of responsible Tourism were showcased on the Ocassion.
Speakers deliberated upon the the theme for this year’s event i.e “ Mountain Solutions for a Sustainable Future : innovation,adaptation and youth ”.The event also witnessed a painting Competition on the above theme with participation from local schools.Display stalls showcasing adventure equipment,Himalayan herbs and mountain foods were also set up.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Mr V.K Bidhuri was the Cheif Guest on the occasion who along with Director Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Raja Yaqoob felicitated the prominent members of Travel Trade, Adventure Clubs and associations for their exceptional work for the cause of Sustainable Tourism activities.
