Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Delhi office proudly hosted a familiarization (FAM) trip for six Indian travel agents from November 27 to December 4, 2024. This initiative aimed to spotlight the Hokuriku region, presenting it as the “New Golden Route” connecting Tokyo and Kyoto. Kanazawa is the capital of Hokuriku, and it is called “little Kyoto”. Hokuriku route is famous for Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route: Known as the “Roof of Japan”, coastal beauty, onsen (hot spring), cultural experiences like Samurai district and geisha tea houses, art and craftmanship.
This exclusive initiative brought together travel professionals from key Indian cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, offering them firsthand experience of Japan’s rich culture on the Hokuriku route covering Yamanashi, Nagano, Toyama, Ishikawa and Fukui prefecture.
