The anticipated launch of Indigo airline’s new direct flight from Bengaluru to Mauritius occurred on November 19, 2024. To inaugurate this new flight route, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA), organised a Familiarization (FAM) trip for Bengaluru’s leading travel agents wherein they experienced Mauritius’s remarkable hospitality, vibrant culture, and natural beauty.
During the FAM trip, the participants explored some of island country’s most luxurious hotels, each offering stunning views of pristine beaches and the turquoise Indian Ocean. The accommodations perfectly blended world-class comfort with the island’s natural charm, affirming its status as an ideal getaway for leisure and luxury travelers.
Cuisine was another highlight of the trip, with the agents savoring Mauritius’s diverse delicacies, including Indian-inspired and traditional Creole dishes, fresh seafood, and vegetarian dishes. The experience was further elevated with a rum tasting session– a demonstration of the island’s prowess in creating globally celebrated spirits. Overall, the FAM trip proved successful in conferring the agents with a holistic knowledge of the destination.
The new flight connection between Bengaluru and Mauritius marks a new chapter in the deepening ties between India and Mauritius, promising new avenues for tourism and cultural exchange.
