NIMA becomes first Indian MICE association to sign an MOU with Russian Union of Travel Industry

The Network of Indian MICE Agents (NIMA) marked a significant milestone on 20th March 2025 by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST). This momentous agreement was formalized during the International Conference on Uniting North and South – For Sustainable Development in the Arctic, held at the Vivekananda International Foundation in New Delhi.

The MOU outlines a long-term partnership aimed at fostering mutually beneficial cooperation between Russian entities and NIMA, with a focus on advancing the tourism industry. The partnership will focus on the joint development and expert evaluation of various projects designed to promote Russian tourism in the international market.

The agreement was signed by NIMA’s National Coordinator, Dr. Nitin Mittal, and Mr. Vadim Mamontov, Vice President of RST. The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Head of the Vivekananda Foundation, the Indian Ambassador to Russia, and other senior dignitaries. NIMA’s delegation included prominent members such as Mr. Vikas Khanduri – Advisor, Mr. Gajesh Girdhar – Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Rakesh Arora – Head of Administration, Finance & Membership, and Mr. Prashant Chaudhary – Coordinator for CIS countries.

NIMA has already established a close working relationship with the Moscow City Tourism Council, and with the signing of this MOU, the association aims to expand its reach and cooperation throughout the wider Russian region.

As NIMA continues to grow and innovate, the association remains dedicated to advancing the Indian MICE industry, building strategic partnerships, and empowering its members to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.
