The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has introduced a significant update to its visa regulations, offering Indian nationals with valid visas or residence permits from the United States, United Kingdom, or European Union the convenience of obtaining a visa-on-arrival when entering the UAE. This new development broadens the previous visa-on-arrival policy, which was previously limited to Indian citizens holding residence permits from these regions.
Effective immediately, Indian passport holders with valid visas or residence permits from the US, UK, or EU member states, and a passport valid for at least six months, are eligible to receive a visa-on-arrival at all UAE entry points. This new policy will further ease entry for Indian travelers, boosting tourism and strengthening the UAE-India partnership.
Eligibility Requirements:
•A valid visa, residence permit, or green card issued by the United States.
•A valid visa or residence permit issued by any EU member country or the United Kingdom.
•A passport with a minimum validity of six months.
Indian nationals who meet these criteria will be granted a 14-day visa-on-arrival, which can be extended for an additional 14 days. The fee for the 14-day visa is set at AED 100, with an extension costing AED 250. Travelers also have the option to apply for a 60-day visa upon entry, priced at AED 250.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICP, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This new measure reaffirms the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic relationship with India and fostering greater travel and tourism exchange between the two nations.”
With this new regulation, the UAE aims to facilitate seamless travel for Indian nationals and further enhance the UAE’s position as a global hub for business and tourism.
