As part of the people-to-people strategy, the US government has announced the creation of ‘in-country’ renewable H-1B visas. With this move, the H-1B visa renewal procedure for Indian experts already on H-1B visas in the US will be made simpler.
Indian professionals won’t need to travel abroad to renew their work visas as a result of this development. Just before the significant bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden at the White House in Washington, DC, the US immigration office made the news.
H-1B visas, also known as work visas, are essential for technology companies that hire tens of thousands of workers from nations like India each year. These visas have a three-year validity period.
Holders with H-1B visas are currently required to have their passports stamped with the new renewal dates. If they intend to leave the US and come back, they must receive this stamp. It is crucial to remember that restamping of H-1B visas is not permitted inside the US and is only possible at any US consulate.
